A device for damping vibration of a drive shaft for a vehicle having an automatic transmission is provided to improve riding comfort by selectively connecting or releasing connection state between the transmission and the drive shaft using a clutch system. A device for damping vibration of a drive shaft(30) for a vehicle having an automatic transmission comprises a clutch housing(40), an input shaft clutch disk(52), an output shaft clutch disk(54), and a clutching unit. The clutch housing is installed between an engine(10) and the drive shaft. The input shaft clutch disk is placed in the clutch housing and assembled to an output shaft of the automatic transmission. The output shaft clutch disk is selectively contacted with the input shaft clutch disk and movably connected with an end of the drive shaft. The clutching unit selectively release contact state between the output shaft clutch disk and the input shaft clutch disk in accordance with idle state and driving state of the vehicle. The clutching unit has a return spring(60), a clutch lever(70), a clutch cylinder(80), and a control unit(90).
