FLAME DETECTING METHOD AND DEVICE

A flame detection method and an apparatus therefor are provided to reduce incorrect information and detect flames more accurately. A plurality of images of a monitoring region is captured(41). It is judged whether a moved region image exists in the images. A color model of the moved region image is analyzed to generate the first analysis result(44). The first analysis result is compared with the first feature of a reference flame image. At least one of a 3D Gaussian mixture model and a 3D YUV Gaussian mixture model is applied as the color model. It is judged whether the moved region image is a flame image on the basis of the compared result.
