A method for transmitting data in cellular networks using cooperative relaying is provided to integrate a RS in an existing cellular structure to improve coverage and capacity, thereby providing improved signal receive quality to users which are in the edge of a sector or a cell. A method for transmitting data in cellular networks using cooperative relaying comprises the following steps of: transmitting at least one sub packet of a first data packet to an MS(Mobile Station) on a first frequency carrier; and transmitting at least one sub packet of a second data packet to the MS through at least one RS(Relay Station). The at least one sub packet of the second data packet from at least one RS is transmitted on a second frequency carrier. The first sub packet of the first data packet and the first sub packet of the second data packet are respectively transmitted through the main channel of the first frequency carrier and the main channel of the second frequency carrier. At least one subsequent sub packet of the first data packet and at least one subsequent sub packet of the second data packet are respectively transmitted through at least one assistant channel of the first frequency carrier and at least one assistant channel of the second frequency carrier.
