A system and a method for managing a resident priority parking zone are provided to regulate parked and illegal parking vehicles by comparing list information with the parked vehicles. A system for managing resident priority parking zone includes a receiver(10), a storing unit(20), a camera(30), and a controller(40). The receiver mounted in a regulating vehicle determines a resident priority parking zone. The storing unit stores resident priority parking zone information, parking zone information, and license plate information of allowed parking vehicles. The camera photographs the license plate of vehicles. The controller displays the resident priority parking zone information to be selected on a monitor, identifies the photographed license plate, compares the identified license plate with the license plate information of the allowed parking vehicles, checks whether or not vehicles are illegally parked, and stores evidence of the illegal parking in the storing unit. |
