A user-settable radio and a user setting method for the radio are provided to enable a receiving control unit to receive radio broadcasting based on basic sound quality adjustment coefficients or user sound quality adjustment coefficients according to a broadcast field status or a region, thereby receiving radio broadcasting suitable for the preference of a user. A basic information storing unit(110) stores the basic sound quality adjustment coefficients of a radio. A user sound quality adjustment unit(120) adjusts the basic sound quality adjustment coefficients according to the input of a user to set user sound quality adjustment coefficients. A sound quality adjustment coefficient selecting unit(130) selects one of the basic sound quality adjustment coefficients or the user sound quality adjustment coefficients. A receiving control unit(140) receives radio broadcasting based on the selection result of the sound quality adjustment coefficient selecting unit.
