The rider drives a rear sprocket wheel using two hand pedals and this wheel drives the front wheel via a chain. Two drive rod linkages provide power transmission between the legs and rear sprocket wheel. Rotating the hand pedals can be assisted by extra leg power when the foot pedals are close to the rider. |
