A method for manufacturing a mouse pad and a mouse pad thereof are provided to need no frequent replacement caused by abrasion of the surface of the mouse pad while rolling a ball or optical mouse smoothly. An upper surface of a plate, which is made of a material capable of processing the surface, is etched by using a physical, chemical, molding, or plating mode(110). The material is one of metallic, non-metallic, ceramic, glass, PVC(Polyvinyl Chloride), MMA(Methyl MetaAcrylate), and synthetic leather materials. A pretreatment agent is coated on the etched upper surface(120). The pretreatment agent is one of polyacetic acid vinyl, polyimide, urea, alkyd, epoxy, and urethane resins. Colors are printed on the coated upper surface(130).
