A method and a device for providing a whiteboard service are provided to protect privacy of chatters using the whiteboard service by preventing a chatting partner from inputting data in a chatting window any longer when one of the chatting users minimizes the chatting window during the whiteboard service. A position data processor(311) processes first graphic data received from a user through a chatting window for a whiteboard service, extracts second graphic data from first RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) payload received from other terminals(330), and displays the second graphic data to a screen. A control data processor(312) generates first control data according to a detection result by detecting minimization of the chatting window, extracts second control data from first RTP data, and determines whether the second control data orders the minimization of the chatting window. An RTP payload processor(313) forms second RTP data from the first graphic and control data received from the position and control data processors, transmits the second RTP data to other terminals, and transfers the second RTP data received from other terminals to the position and control data processor. |
