A solid ink stick chute for transport of solid ink in a printer with mating solid ink stick chute is provided to allow an ink stick to smoothly move along a curved portion of the chute without buckling and caming. A solid ink printer(202) includes a frame(203) used for supporting a solid ink transfer system(204). The solid ink transfer system moves a stick(206) from a loading station(224) adjacent to the top of the printer to a fused station(230) adjacent to the bottom of the printer. The printer also includes a plurality of chutes(208). The chutes are used for black, cyan, yellow, and magenta, respectively.
