A method and a system for providing a message reading confirm service are provided to supply the reading confirm service even when a receiver is in an origination inhibition state, thereby increasing service satisfaction of a mobile communication subscriber. A message is received from an originator(S201). By using receiver information included in the received message, a message origination available state of a receiver is grasped(S207). If the receiver is in an origination inhibition state, the message received from the originator is transmitted to the receiver in a general message form(S209,S211). After producing a read confirm non-provision guide message, the produced message is transmitted to the originator(S213,S215).
