A dendritic polymer containing metal phthalocyanine is provided to form a hole injection layer or a hole transfer layer having improved adhesive activity with electricity and hole injection properties through solution deposition, so that the polymer is useful for producing an organic light emitting diode having high brightness and luminescence efficiency. A dendritic polymer containing metal phthalocyanine represented by the formula(2) in which M is a core metal is prepared by reacting compounds represented by the formula(1) in which X is O, S, CH2, CO, SO2 or NHCO with metal or metal compound selected from Cu, Co, Ni, Ti, Fe, Ru and Zn at 100-200 deg. C for 30 minutes to 20 hours. An organic light emitting diode contains an organic layer containing the dendritic polymer between a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the organic layer is a buffer layer, a hole injection layer or a hole transfer layer. Further, a mole ratio of the compounds represented by the formula(1) and the metal or the metal compound is 4:1 to 3:2.
