An electrochemical device having an oxygen scavenger therein is provided to improve the safety of the device by removing oxygen causing ignition and explosion of the device. An electrochemical device having an oxygen scavenger therein comprises an oxygen scavenger that absorbs or consumes oxygen therein, wherein the oxygen scavenger is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of sodium sulfite(Na2SO3), hydrazine compounds and carbohydrazide. The oxygen scavenger absorbs oxygen generated in the device or introduced from the exterior to spontaneously produce another compound, or absorbs oxygen to discharge non-inflammable gases other than oxygen. |
