An electric rice cooker is provided to prevent production of leftover cold rice by keeping leftover rice in one section of an inner pot while cooking rice in the other section. An electric rice cooker is characterized by cooking rice and keeping leftover rice warm at the same time, to prevent the leftover rice from getting cold for cooking new rice. An inner pot of the electric rice cooker is divided into a cooking area for cooking rice and a keeping area for keeping the leftover rice.
