An organic thin film transistor, a manufacturing method thereof, an electrostatic discharge protection element using the same, a liquid crystal display device having the same, and a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device are provided to manufacture the organic thin film transistor and an electrostatic discharge protection element through the same manufacturing process. A source electrode(4a) and a drain electrode(4b) are spaced apart from each other at a predetermined interval on a substrate(1). An organic semiconductor layer(5) is placed on the source and drain electrodes, and an organic gate insulating layer(6) is formed on the organic semiconductor layer. An auxiliary electrode(7) is formed on the organic gate insulating layer, and a protective layer(9) is formed on the substrate and has a contact hole exposing the auxiliary electrode. A gate electrode(8) is formed on the organic gate insulating layer, and is electrically connected to the auxiliary electrode.
