METHOD OF MANUFACTURING LARGE-GRAINED URANIUM DIOXIDE FUEL PELLET

A manufacturing method of a large-grained uranium dioxide fuel pellet is provided to improve the performance of nuclear fuel by restraining the nuclear fission gas. A manufacturing method of a large-grained uranium dioxide fuel pellet includes the step of simultaneously adding U3O8 powder and aluminum oxide in UO2 powder. The U3O8 powder includes a preformed body, slug, and is manufactured by the oxidation in 300~350.C. The large-grained uranium dioxide fuel pellet contains aluminum oxide powders below 100 ppm in the UO2 sintering material. The UO2 sintering material is has a grain size of 13~15mum. The U3O8 powder has a specific surface area larger than 0.9m^2/g.
