A hangover-relieving agent containing fresh red pepper extract as an active ingredient is provided to ensure an effect of reducing blood alcohol concentration and to be drunk by addition to liquor and conveniently taken before and after drinking. A hangover-relieving agent contains 2 to 100% by weight of fresh red pepper extract, 0.5 to 5% by weight of wood vinegar and 0.5 to 10% by weight of garlic extract. The fresh red pepper extract is obtained by the steps of: washing unripe green pepper or fresh red pepper with water and dehydrating it; putting into a container containing water or oil; heating the container at 50 to 110deg.C for 20 to 30min; collecting and cooling the vapor; and filtering the condensed liquid under reduced pressure. A health supplementary food contains 0.1 to 20% by weight of the hangover-relieving agent. |
