A data writing method for an optical disc is provided to achieve reliable quality in data recording by determining optimum recording power based on the change of ambient temperature that may influence the recording quality, and recording data using laser power corresponding to the optimum recording power. A data writing method for an optical disc having a data-writable recording layer comprises the steps of: recording data on the recording layer with a predetermined recording power(508); and recording the rest of the data with a new recording power that is corrected by reflecting current ambient temperature during data recording(514,516). The correction of recording power reflecting current ambient temperature is repeated when every predetermined amount of data is recorded and the ambient temperature is changed by a predetermined degree.
