A mammography apparatus of duplex investigation and a method thereof are provided to collect data to maximize the efficiency of treatment by accurately finding the position and size of lesion. A mammography apparatus of duplex investigation includes an X-ray generating unit(10), a first collimator(20), a plurality of multi-layer filter units(30), a breast fixing unit(50), and an image outputting unit(60). The X-ray generating unit generates X-ray beam. The first collimator has a plurality of through holes(22) for a plurality of certain amount of beams in the cone-shaped beam of X-ray irradiated through the X-ray generating unit. The plurality of multi-layer filter units reflects each beam penetrated through the plurality of through holes of the first collimator, and performs filtering the certain energy band by certain angle. The breast fixing unit fixes breasts scanned by the plurality of beams reflected through the multi-layer filter units. The image outputting unit is placed on each of the plurality of beams which scanned the breasts fixed on the breast fixing unit, and reconstructs the three-dimension image reconstructed from the two-dimension image obtained by the plurality of beams reflected by different angles.
