An apparatus and a method for offering EPG(Electric Program Guide) are provided to allow a user to search for channels while viewing a screen of a display device without viewing a screen of a TV, thereby making the user select the channels conveniently. A receiving unit receives EPG channel information from a broadcast receiver. A channel table(210) shows broadcast channel information. A display device(220) displays a screen of a channel corresponding to a current position on the channel table, based on the received EPG channel information. The display device includes a display unit for displaying the screen of the channel corresponding to the current position, and a transmitting unit for transmitting information on the channel of the screen to the broadcast receiver.
