DISPLAY DEVICE CAPABLE OF DISPLAYING PARTIAL PICTURE AND DRIVING METHOD OF THE SAME

A display device displaying partial images and a method for driving the same are provided to reduce power consumption by partially driving an LCD(Light Crystal Display) device. A display device includes a display panel having gate lines and a gate driver having a shift register composed of plural stages and plural signal lines. At least one of the plural stages includes transfer stages(SGs1-SGs3) and output stages(SGo1-SGo3). The transfer stages sequentially drive the stages. The output stages drive partially the gate lines based on a delivering signal outputted from the transfer stages and a driving region selection signal having high and low level sections.
