A method for controlling a communication service of a mobile terminal, and a mobile terminal therefor are provided to set whether communication services provided to a mobile terminal are allowed or not on a single screen image. A wireless unit(110) serves to connect one or more communication services. A display unit(160) displays one or more icons to set whether the communication services are allowed to be used or not. A controller(170) controls using of the communication services according to the set results of the icons displayed on the display unit. The communication services include at least one of a call service and a message service. The icons are to collectively set whether the communication services are allowed to be used or not on a single screen image. The controller controls to allow using of origination or termination of the communication services uni-directionally or bi-directionally.
