A superabsorbent particle containing carboxyalkyl cellulose is provided to obtain a superabsorbent body useful for producing sanitary personal care products by using a biodegradable, regenerable and cost efficient material. A superabsorbent particle comprises a combination of any one of galactomannan polymer and glucomannan polymer with carboxyalkyl cellulose. The particle contains a plurality of multi-valent metal ion crosslinking bonds, wherein the metal ion is selected from the group consisting of aluminum, boron, bismuth, titanium, zirconium and a mixture thereof. The galactomannan polymer or the glucomannan polymer is present in an amount of 1-20 wt% based on the total weight of the particles. The carboxyalkyl cellulose is present in an amount of 60-99 wt% of the total weight of the particles.
