A wireless packet synchronization apparatus and a method thereof are provided to reduce packet loss, by synchronizing a packet when the difference of maximum correlation values of symbols of an input signal is equal to a period of one symbol. An A/D(Analog/Digital) conversion part(310) converts an analog input signal applied from the outside into a digital signal. A correlation calculation part(320) is connected to the A/D conversion part, and calculates a correlation value by correlating the converted input signal with a set reference code. A threshold setting part(330) is connected to the correlation calculation part, and sets a threshold value of the correlation value. A maximum correlation value detection part(340) is connected to the correlation calculation part and the threshold value setting part, and detects a maximum correlation value position in each symbol of the input signal when the correlation value is higher than the threshold value, and judges whether maximum correlation value position difference of continuous constant symbol is equal to the period of one symbol. A preamble detection part(350) is connected to the correlation calculation part and the maximum correlation value detection part, and outputs a preamble detection signal when the maximum correlation value position difference of the constant symbol is equal to the period of one symbol. A data detection part(360) receives data of the input signal when the preamble detection signal is applied.
