PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time of a read of information from a hologram recording medium. SOLUTION: A hologram reconstructing device performs a process of decoding information recorded in an element hologram on a hologram recording medium through a two-dimensional image read out of the element hologram. At this time, external parities for decoding information recorded in other element holograms are extracted. Once a specified amount of external parities are obtained, information recorded in an element hologram which is not imaged yet is decoded from the external parities. Consequently, data recorded on the whole hologram recording medium, for example, content data can be reconstructed even before a read scan of all element holograms recorded on the hologram recording medium is completed.
