PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compass having a structure facilitating positioning to a desired point for centering the compass to see the point by placing the compass on a drawing or the like. SOLUTION: The outer shape of the compass is octagonal. All of the bottom surface, the side surfaces, and the upper surface of the compass are made of a transparent member, excluding a pointer 1 indicating the point, a pedestal 2 supporting the pointer, and lines constituting the compass. In this case, a type face 3 and the lines 4 are written on the bottom surface with engraving ink later, or the type face 3 and the lines are printed on a transparent seal to be stuck on the bottom surface.
