PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device for a stage in which illumination range against an object face of the stage can be regulated precisely, and in which high degree of symmetry is obtained in the illumination range. SOLUTION: The illumination device 10 for the stage has a main body 12 of a nearly box shape in which a reflecting face is provided in the inner part in order to illuminate a horizontal curtain 21, and has a light source 13 housed in the main body 12, and by a light shielding member 30 installed between the light source 13 and the edge part of an opening 17 of the main body 12, irradiation opening from the opening can be selected.
