PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable viewing only of a source device and a television, without changing the connection between devices even in power source standby of an AV amplifier in a video/audio viewing system of the source device and the television connected via the AV amplifier. SOLUTION: In an AV amplifier 2, a data table 106 is provided for indicating a signal reproducing capability to a source device 1 and in the power source standby of the AV amplifier 2, the contents of data indicating the reproducing capability of audio signals stored in the data table 106 are rewritten into data, indicating not the reproducing capability of the AV amplifier 2 but the signal reproducing capability of a television 4 itself, thereby creating a state equivalent to the connection of the source device 1 and the television 4.
