PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the formation of a blinking bright point. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel DP of OCB (Optically Compensated Bend) mode which has a liquid crystal layer LQ held between a pair of substrates AR and CT and a transition voltage applying circuit DR which applies an alternating transition voltage changing liquid crystal molecules from splay alignment to bend alignment in a transition period to the liquid crystal layer LQ.
