PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the formation of a blinking bright point. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel DP of OCB (Optically Compensated Bend) mode which has a liquid crystal layer LQ held between a pair of substrates AR and CT and a transition voltage applying circuit DR which applies an alternating transition voltage changing liquid crystal molecules from splay alignment to bend alignment in a transition period to the liquid crystal layer LQ. The transition voltage applying circuit DR includes dullness control sections 2 and 3 which delay transition of the alternating transition voltage leaving a center level. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
