<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manganese oxide capable of realizing superior high rate characteristics more than those of conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: This is a manganese oxide which is expressed by a composition formula MnS<SB>a</SB>H<SB>b</SB>Me<SB>x</SB>O<SB>c</SB>-zH<SB>2</SB>O (combination of one kind or two kinds or more of Me:Ti, Ca, Mg, or Ln) in which a is 0.005 or more and 0.015 or less, b is 0.3 or more and 0.5 or less, and c is 1.8 or more and 2.3 or less, x is 0 or more than 0 and 0.015 or less, and z is more than 0, and among them, preferably manganese oxide in which the rate b/a of H to S is 2 to 100 is proposed. Since a prescribed amount of "S" and "H" are taken into manganese oxide, at the time of discharge reaction, proton (H<SP>+</SP>) is supplied directly and rapidly from inside manganese oxide, and the discharge reaction (high rate discharge) becomes easier to follow even at the time of high load. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
