<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image composite method that composes a composite image being one image with an image to be composed being the other image at a prescribed composite position on the basis of a plurality of series images and can flexibly cope with diversified user's needs. <P>SOLUTION: An image composite method receives designation of a composite method, a composite image page, a composite image region, a composite position, and a composite magnification or the like from a user on an image overlay selection menu MG 100, and the image composition is processed according to the designations. For example, the image composite method receives designation whether OR composite or replacement composite is to be adopted from a BT 112 or a BT 114. The image composite method receives whether a page including the composite image is to be a job head, all pages other than the head or a job tail end from a BT 112, a BT 124, or a BT 126. The image composite method receives designation of a composite image region in the original from a BT 132 and a BT 134, and receives designation of a composite position in the image to be composed from a BT 142 and a BT 144.
