<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of electrothermal conversion that does not affect the rise time of a fixing means and capable of preventing clinging of ejected sheets of paper as well, is high in serving energy, and satisfactory in the ability to stack ejected sheets of paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fixing means and a paper conveying means used after fixing. In the image forming apparatus, the paper conveying means is a heat absorbing means that absorbs heat dissipated from a sheet of paper subjected to fixing, and has an electrothermal conversion means for converting heat obtained by the heat absorbing means into power. In addition, the image forming apparatus has a cooling means for cooling the heat absorbing means and the low-temperature part of the electrothermal conversion means, by using power produced through the conversion by the electrothermal conversion means.
