INHIBITOR OF CEREBRAL INFARCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor of cerebral infarction effective against necrosis of cerebral tissues after ischemia over a long period according to the actual cerebral infarction with slight adverse effects.

SOLUTION: The inhibitor of the cerebral infarction comprises an anti-HMGB1 [anti-(high mobility group box 1)] monoclonal antibody as an active ingredient. The inhibitor of the cerebral infarction is used for inhibiting the cerebral infarction by the ischemia over the long period of≥1 h. The inhibitor of the cerebral infarction is administered in 0.2-5 mg/kg dose of the anti-HMGB1 monoclonal antibody at a time.
