<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce equipment costs and construction costs of tollgates on a toll road. <P>SOLUTION: An ETC system comprises: first radio equipment 3 and 4 for forming radio communication areas 3a and 4a on lanes 21 and 22 of a tollgate on a toll road; vehicle type identification devices 1 and 2 for identifying the type of vehicles entering first roadway of the tollgate; lane control devices 5 and 6 for controlling the first radio equipment 3 and 4 to transmit tollgate information except for undefined vehicle type information to an on-vehicle unit 20, and associatively transmitting vehicle type information identified by the vehicle type identification devices 1 and 2 and an on-vehicle unit ID acquired from the on-vehicle unit 20 to a second control device 10, which stores them in a memory 11; second radio equipment 9 for forming a radio communication area 9a on a ramp way 23 extending from the tollgate to lanes of the toll road; and the second control device 10 for reading the vehicle type information of the on-vehicle unit ID from the memory 11 and transmitting it to the on-vehicle unit in the second communication area 9a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
