<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of the adjustment of the amount of lighting of each lighting element which constitutes a print head. <P>SOLUTION: In an LPH, SLED chips (Chips 1-58), in which a plurality of LEDs are arranged in a main scanning direction, are arranged in a zigzag pattern in the main scanning direction. When the quantity of light from each LED is corrected, firstly, the LPH singly and directly measures the quantity of the light emitted from each LED, and a first light-quantity correction value A of each LED, which is acquired on the basis of the result of this measurement, is written in an EEPROM 102. Next, the LPH is mounted on a digital color printer; the quantity of the light emitted from each LED is indirectly measured on the basis of the result of reading of a test chart which is acquired by an image forming operation; and a second light-quantity correction value B of each LED is determined on the basis of the result of this measurement. A third final light-quantity correction value C, which is acquired by performing correction while referring to the value B on the basis of the value A, is written in the EEPROM 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
