PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small rotary drive of simple structure which can produce high speed rotation easily while exhibiting excellent rotation characteristics and capable of micromachining. SOLUTION: The rotary driving method rotates a rodlike or tubular rotor 120 extending in a tubular stator 110 along the axial direction thereof and having a required clearance to the inner circumferential surface of the stator 110.
