PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass which has a low transition temperature, a refractive index n<SB>d</SB>of 1.91-2.05 and an Abbe's number v<SB>d</SB>of 19-25 and which does not contain lead and arsenic for environmental protection. SOLUTION: The optical glass has a following composition comprising, by wt.% in terms of oxide, 55-70 Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 13-21 GeO<SB>2</SB>, 0-9 SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-10 B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-5 Li<SB>2</SB>O, 0-5 Na<SB>2</SB>O, 0-5 K<SB>2</SB>O, 0-6 Cs<SB>2</SB>O, 0-10 MgO, 0-10 CaO, 0-10 SrO, 0-10 BaO, 0-10 ZnO, 0-5 TiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-7 La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-6 WO<SB>3</SB>, 0-6 Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 0-5 ofΣalkali oxides, 0-10 ofΣalkaline earth oxides, 0-8 ofΣ(La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+WO<SB>3</SB>+Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>+TiO<SB>2</SB>), and 0-2 normal clarification agent, wherein the ratio of B<SB>i</SB>O<SB>3</SB>to GeO<SB>2</SB>is≤5.
