PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture continuously a glass substrate with a functional film of a predetermined size by using a glass roll obtained by winding a thin glass sheet around a core. SOLUTION: Scribe lines (2) for cutting are formed on a continuous glass sheet (1), then the sheet is rolled around a core (6) to produce a glass roll (100). A functional film is formed on the surface of a glass sheet supplied from this glass roll in which the scribe line is not formed, then the glass sheet is cut along the scribe line, and thereby the glass substrate with the functional film of the predetermined size can be obtained.
