PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine of which the usability is good in the heating setting of the washing water. SOLUTION: This drum type washing machine is equipped with a controlling means 44 which controls the operation of the drum type washing machine, a heating means 41 for the water in a water tub; an input setting means 45, a displaying means 46, a power source turning-on switch 45f, and a storage means 48. The heating setting for the washing water is stored in the storage means 48 when the heating operation is started, or right after the completion of the operation by the input setting means 45. Then, when the power source turning-in switch 45f is turned on, the controlling means 44 displays the heating setting for the washing water being stored in the storage means 48 on the displaying means 46 as an initial setting.
