PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a drum type washing machine equipped with a heating means no longer exhibits the function of a heating-washing process when an abnormal situation of the heating means is sensed. SOLUTION: When the heating-washing process is operated, a rising temperature value per unit time is sensed by a temperature sensing means 42 for the water temperature of washing water in a water receiving tub 32 in the operation initial stage, and the presence of an abnormality in a heating means 41 is judged when the rising value becomes a specified value or lower.
