PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grid body of a lead-acid battery surely enhancing battery life performance by sufficiently enlarging the mass ratio of the upper half of a mesh part 5a within the prescribed region. SOLUTION: The grid body 5 is formed in a rotary method such that many slits 1a are formed zigzag along the length direction in a lead or lead alloy sheet material 1 with a disk-like cutter 3, the sheet material 1 is expanded in the width direction to develop the slits 1a to form a mesh part 5a by the rotary system. An upper forehead part 5b where a lug part 5d for current collecting is projected is arranged in the upper part of the mesh part 5a, and the mass of the upper half of a frame 5f is made 54-62% of the whole.
