PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel type construction machine which assures a sufficient foot space in an operator's cabin and can successfully carry out its work using an attachment. SOLUTION: A hydraulic excavator being the wheel type construction machine is provided with a mode changeover switch 42 in the operator's cabin on a swivel base to enable a travelling pedal 44 to be used as an operating pedal of an attachment like a breaker or a crusher.
