<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize auxiliary power, and thereby to set the temperature of a fixing roller to a target temperature more quickly during rising of the temperature as compared with a conventional method. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus provided with a main power supply device, a main heating unit to which power is supplied from the main power supply device, an auxiliary power supply device adopting a prescribed charge accumulation means as a power source, and an auxiliary heating unit to which power is supplied from the auxiliary power supply device to heat a fixing roller by the main heating unit and the auxiliary heating unit when heating is started, is provided also with an accumulation quantity detection means for detecting the accumulation quantity of the charge accumulation means and an auxiliary power supply control device for variably setting a power supply period from the auxiliary power supply device to the auxiliary heating unit in accordance with the detection result of the charge quantity detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
