<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging element the dynamic range of which is extended without the need for increasing a drive frequency of an output amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging element includes a plurality of pixels 1 each including a photoelectric conversion element 8. Capacitors 4, 5 respectively store signals outputted from the pixels 1 whose storage time differs from each other among the plural pixels 1. The two signals stored in the capacitors 4, 5 are distributed by the capacitors 4, 5 and an output line 6.
