PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable storage device including a content display-type portable storage medium.

SOLUTION: A portable storage medium document card is a portable unit having a nonvolatile storage means for storing information in a digital form; a control processor for accessing documents stored therein; an I/O port for interfacing to external devices for reading and writing digital information; and a user interface 601 for allowing a user to directly interact with the document card. The user interface includes a plurality of traversal keys 606-609 for allowing a user to traverse lists of functions and documents; a selection key 610 for allowing a user to select a highlight function or a document; a processing means processing user invoked functions; and a display 603 for displaying the lists of functions and documents and information responsive to the user invoked functions.
