PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the removal of a temporary fixation during the processing of an optical member, and a composition suitable therefor. SOLUTION: The composition, which composes an adhesive, comprises (A) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate, (B) a monofunctional (meth)acrylate, (C) a polar organic solvent, and (D) a photopolymerization initiator. Preferably (C), (A) and (B) have hydrophobicity. The adhesive consisting of this composition is provided. The temporary fixation method of the member comprises attaching and temporarily fixing the member using the above composition, processing the temporarily fixed member, then re-irradiating the light of wavelengths of≤700 nm onto the supporting substrate, thereafter immersing the processed member into warm water of≤90°C, and stripping and removing only the workpiece while leaving the cured product of the composition on the substrate side. The surface roughness (RMax) of the substrate surface which faces the composition is 10-50μm, and it is 10μm or more larger than the surface roughness (RMax) of the surface of the member which faces the composition.
