PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display entire display data for specific information selected by a viewer, by providing the other display region in addition to display regions provided, in advance, and to represent information that the display data contained within limited display regions by adding an indication complementing the information that the display data contain, if the information is lacking. SOLUTION: A receiving apparatus comprises an information decoder for decoding program associated information received together with video signals and audio signals, and a display control unit including a comparator for comparing a received program information quantity associated with a displayable information quantity, and sets a display format for program associated information to be displayed.
