PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video information processing apparatus in which updating processing of a play list to which video information is referred, can be performed at high speed when the video information is deleted. SOLUTION: When storing original data, an associated information storage region is secured for the unit of original data. When original data are referred to by a play list function and a partial region in the original data is registered on a play list, an identifier for uniquely identifying a reference source play list is stored in an associated information storage region held by the referenced original data. If a user issues a deletion instruction to original data, a control unit 11 refers to an associated demand method storage region of the original data to be deleted and acquires the identifier of the stored reference source play list.
