PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film formation method capable of easily controlling film thickness and of easily providing a flat film; to provide a manufacturing method of an organic electroluminescent device; to provide an organic electroluminescent device; and to provide an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: Since a longitudinal end edge 29a of a negative electrode 29 formed on a luminescent layer 28b is arranged on the longitudinal center part side relative to a longitudinal end edge 26a of an in-barrier region 26, that is to say, the negative electrode 29 is prevented from being superposed on the vicinity of the longitudinal end edge 26a of the in-barrier region 26 low in wettability, the negative electrode 29 is prevented from contacting a hole injection layer 28a. Thereby, an electrical short circuit is never caused between the negative electrode 29 and the hole injection layer 28a, and a luminescence failure can be avoided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
