PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke system with which a plurality of users having different native languages understand a content of a lyric, and translated lyric of the native language are automatically set, by using the karaoke apparatus incorporated with a user ID acquiring function. SOLUTION: The system includes: a user ID acquiring means 3; a native language managing means 15; and a translated lyric control means 16. Based on a user attribute information managing table T1 and a native language managing table T2, user's native language is discriminated by prescribed attribute information, and by using the translated lyric control means 16, languages other than lyric telop of music being played which is currently displayed on a main monitor D1, are displayed on a sub-monitor D2 as the translated lyrics.
