PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device having stable fixing performance, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a removing member 69 disposed in a gap 70 formed between a fixing roll 611 and the peeling pad 64 to remove abrasion powder stuck to the inner surface 64a of the peeling pad 64. The removing member 69 is constituted of a core member 69a and a holding body 69b arranged so as to cover the circumferential surface of the core member 69b. The removing member 69 arranged in the gap 70 is moved along the inner surface 64a while coming into contact with the inner surface 64a of the peeling pad 64 (G in Fig.) The holding body 69b of the removing member 69 holds abrasion powder stuck to the inner surface 64a. Consequently the abrasion powder can be removed from the inner surface 64a which is the surface of the peeling pad 64. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
